: Internal Transportation Dispatcher, UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Internal Transportation Dispatcher to join our Courier Services department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Shift: Evening Rotational Hours per week: 20 Salary range: $17.19 - $24.42 per hour, depending on experience. Internal Transportation Dispatcher / Overview Under general supervision to provide for the continuity of prompt, efficient, safe and reliable patient, passenger, equipment and supply services by dispatching Internal Transportation Aides and External Transportation drivers in compliance with departmental/UHSH policies, Service Delivery Standards and department Quality Improvement guidelines. Key Responsibilities and Expectations Education/Experience Minimum Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) years of experience involving the transport of patients, equipment, supplies and other materials. Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions.
• Preferred:
  • Experience handling multiple phone lines. Previous hospital experience as aide/orderly, transportation aide, dispatcher operator or related position.

License/Certification

• Preferred:
  • Unrestricted Driver's License.

Work Environment

• All work is performed in an air conditioned/heated office. Gloves, masks, gowns and shields when involved in cleaning and transporting of patients or handling bio-hazardous waste. Ability to push/pull loads in excess of 100 lbs. Ability to stand/walk/sit for long periods of time. Working knowledge of various types of motor vehicles. Ability to read a road map.
