We are currently seeking a Lawn & Plant Health Care Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a background in horticulture, strong plant identification skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality plant and turf care services. Pay

$19.00 – $25.00/hour starting pay, with opportunities for advancement based on experience and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Background in horticulture strongly desired (degree, coursework, or equivalent experience).
  • Working knowledge of tree, shrub, turf, and ornamental plant identification, as well as associated insect and disease issues.
  • Familiarity with pesticides, fertilizers, and plant health care products, with knowledge of proper mixing, calibration, and application techniques.
  • Ability to lift/pull heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, efficient, and effective plant/turf care.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required) .
  • New York Category 3a Pesticide Applicator Certification (Preferred) or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Punctual, dependable, and motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to continue PHC/Horticulture education.
  • Willingness to work in a smoke-free workplace.

Responsibilities

Spring–Summer-Fall (Plant Health Care/TurfCare):

  • Perform seasonal lawn and plant health care treatments, including applications of pesticides, fertilizers, and other products according to company programs.
  • Accurately identify turf grasses, trees, shrubs, and ornamentals, along with common insect, disease, and abiotic issues affecting them.
  • Mix, load, and apply materials in accordance with label instructions, industry standards, and applicable state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate application records and service logs.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain plant health care equipment, including spray rigs, injection systems, and hoses.
  • Monitor property conditions, report observations, and recommend follow-up treatments or cultural improvements.
  • Safely load/unload and handle hoses, spray guns, or equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines.

Winter (Snow, Ice, and Décor Take-Down):

  • Safely operate snow removal equipment including trucks with plows and snow blowers.
  • Perform manual snow removal and apply de-icing materials.
  • Be available 24/7 and on-call for snow events throughout the winter season.
  • Respond promptly and reliably to snow events, which may include nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist with holiday décor removal in January and February, including work on ladders and rooftops.
  • Maintain safe job sites and follow all safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors and be exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, Saturdays as needed during peak seasons.
  • Hours may vary depending on weather and workload.
  • Overtime available.
