Catering Sous Chef

The Production Sous Chef will report to the Executive Chef and be responsible for overseeing the daily preparation and production of high-volume, high-quality food for corporate catering clients. The focus is on precision, efficiency, and presentation—delivering chef-driven, seasonal menus with consistency and flair.
Job Details
- Support the Executive Chef and Senior Culinary Team in the execution of all production kitchen operations.
- Lead production and prep for daily outgoing orders, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Maintain quality and consistency across all culinary output, adhering to luxury standards.
- Lead and train production kitchen staff; supervise workflow and ensure timely production.
- Collaborate closely with event chefs, logistics, and service teams to coordinate on-site needs.
- Enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols in accordance with DOH standards.
- Manage inventory and communicate needs for ordering and prep.
- Support and advise on execution for large scale events.
- Work with the Executive Chef on seasonal menu changes and new product development tailored to a corporate clientele
Competencies & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a high volume catering environment, preferably in a supervisory role
- Ability to interact positively with supervisor, management, coworkers, members, and the public to promote a team effort and maintain a positive and professional approach
- Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages
- Actively practices food safety procedures
- Able to train and motivate team
- Strong Organizational skills
- Effective time management
