Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing CPA firm. This role will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with core day-to-day accounting functions for multiple client accounts. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and experience handling general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Review and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Provide bookkeeping and accounting support for multiple client accounts
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Work closely with senior accountants and partners on various accounting projects
- Maintain organized documentation and assist with audit or tax preparation as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years of accounting experience (CPA firm experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines
Work Schedule:
This position operates on a hybrid schedule, with employees working in the office and the ability to work from home 1–2 days per week.
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
