Host / Maître D’ – Island Restaurant (Upper East Side)
Location: 1305 Madison Avenue (between 92nd & 93rd Streets)
Compensation: $21/hour + tips (average additional $20–$90 per shift)
Employment Type: Part-Time (3 - 5 shifts per week)
Island is a beloved neighborhood restaurant serving the Upper East Side for nearly four decades. We welcome a loyal, upscale clientele in a warm, lively atmosphere that’s both professional and personal. Our team is tight-knit, fast-paced, and focused on genuine hospitality.
Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, polished, and professional Host/Maître D’ with OpenTable experience to join our front-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment and enjoys being the first and last impression for our guests.
Requirements
1–2 years of experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant
Proficiency with OpenTable required
Friendly personality with excellent communication skills
Calm and composed under pressure
Strong multitasking and teamwork skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Schedule
We are hiring for these shifts:
Wednesday 4pm – 9:30pm
Saturday 4pm – 9:30pm
Sunday 4pm – 9:30pm
