Human Resources Assistant
Hospice of CNY has a need for a Human Resources Assistant. This person would be responsible for oversight and management of daily HR operations, serving as a versatile point of contact for employees and management. Manage a broad range of tasks across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, separations, payroll, retirement plan, benefits administration, employee relations, policy implementation, and compliance with labor laws
The hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.
Minimum Education:
Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field and two-three years’ experience, or high school diploma and five- seven years’ experience
Licensure/Certification/ Registration Requirements: None
Reporting Relationship: Director of Human Resources
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

- Highly developed analytical, and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to represent the Agency effectively in a variety of settings and with diverse communities and volunteers
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion
- Sensitive to ethnic, cultural and lifestyle differences
- Proficient in the use of computer technology and HR software
Job Duties:
- Manages projects, resources and initiates actions to achieve broadly defined objectives
- Oversee talent acquisition processes including sourcing through platforms and conduct interviews to attract top candidates.
- Manage employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth integration into the company culture.
- Administer benefits programs and handle benefits administration tasks using systems such as ADP and Navigator,.
- Ensure compliance and assistance with various qualified protected leave of absences relating to employment & labor law regulations including FMLA, NYS Short Term Disability, NYS Paid Family Leave, , and workers’ compensation.
- Facilitate performance management processes including employee evaluations and performance reviews.
- Support change management initiatives and assist in organizational design projects to optimize workforce structure.
- Handle employee relations issues with effective conflict management strategies and maintain positive communication channels.
- All data entry pertinent to the needs of the department
- Assist in the coordination and completion of the bi-weekly payroll processing
- Maintains flexibility to meet agency needs. Accepts other duties as appropriate.
- Act as a back-up processor of the 403B payroll contribution batch data files.
- Manage employee recordkeeping to ensure federal and state compliance requirements are upheld.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers. Employee must be able to reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is also required to stand, walk, bend and squat. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range : $50,000-$60,000 (Non-Exempt)
