Developmental Music Educator (Manhattan & Brooklyn)
Musicolor Method® of New York City is building a faculty of developmentally informed music educators serving families throughout Manhattan, North Brooklyn, and South Brooklyn.
We are not a gig-based lesson platform.
We are a structured, sequential enrichment program focused on early childhood music education (ages 3–10), building confidence, focus, coordination, and emotional growth through music.
We are especially interested in educators with backgrounds in:
- Early childhood education
- Music therapy
- Special education
- Child development
- Developmental enrichment programs
Our Approach
Teachers are trained in the Musicolor Method® and deliver a structured, sequential curriculum designed to:
- Develop musical fluency
- Strengthen focus and self-regulation
- Build confidence from the first lesson
- Support neurodivergent and diverse learners
We believe music education is a form of developmental training.
Compensation
- $60/hour starting rate
- $70/hour after 10 successful lessons
- Most lessons are 30 minutes
- Paid training provided
Lessons are in-home and assigned within a primary geographic zone. Travel time between lessons is not paid. Candidates should live within or near the area they wish to serve.
Schedule & Commitment
Students enroll individually and are carefully matched based on age, learning style, and personality.
Schedules are built gradually within a designated primary zone. Educators must be comfortable with roster growth during the first 1–3 months as we establish density in their area.
We prioritize long-term commitment and consistent weekly availability over short-term scheduling flexibility.
