Research fellow
Overview
Associate to work on an NIH-funded project that studies the immune response to a bacterial pathogen.
Responsibilities
-
Perform complex experiments in the fields of bacteriology and immunology. Includes work with molecular biology, protein chemistry, immunoassays and live animals (mice, survival surgery).

Provide scientific input to the design of experimental work and interpretation of data.

Guide, train, manage and supervise laboratory research assistants, students, and research fellows.

Self-guidance to learn new methodologies and gain expertise in new scientific areas, as needed.

Supervise and manage purchase orders, equipment, and inventories.

Supervise and manage the onboarding and certification of laboratory staff.
-
Abide by established lab standards for communication, documentation, organization, and teamwork.
Qualifications
Education requirement:Minimum: Ph.D. (or other doctorate-level degree)
Technical/computer skills:

Excel (proficient); Microsoft office

Specialty software
Prior experience:

Five years (or more) of wet laboratory experience
Minimum Salary
USD $52,000.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $65,000.00/Yr.
