Position Overview: The Building Facility Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. This role requires hands-on experience in refrigeration, HVAC systems, and a valid OSHA license. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Refrigeration Systems Maintenance:

  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on refrigeration units, including walk-in coolers, freezers, and air conditioning systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

• HVAC Systems Maintenance:

  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
  • Conduct routine inspections, filter changes, and system cleanings to ensure efficient operation.
  • Address and resolve HVAC-related issues, including temperature control and air quality concerns.

• OSHA Compliance:

  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices.
  • Conduct safety audits and report any safety hazards or concerns.

• General Facility Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and general building upkeep.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff and vendors to address facility issues.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on equipment status, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

Qualifications:

• Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification or formal training in refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Valid OSHA certification or willingness to obtain one within the first 60 days of employment.

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance, with a strong focus on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial or industrial setting is preferred.

• Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

• Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work on-call and respond to emergencies outside of regular business hours if needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
