The RN Manager of Education plans, implements, and monitors the educational programs for all clinical staff based on organizational requirements, individual need, and compliance regulations. Plan, implement, and monitor the practice health and safety program for all clinical sites; ensuring annual changes are communicated/taught and performance metrics are met.

The Manager develops innovative ways to educate and reach clinical staff across our large geographical footprint. Utilize technology and analytics to monitor performance and track program progress and success.

You will collaborate with the clinical operation leadership teams on special educational roll outs and learning projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and evaluate educational and quality programs for effectiveness and optimum performance
  • Assist w/ establishing, implementing, and managing organizational policies and procedures in relation to patient care, ensuring compliance with regulatory and/or federal guidelines
  • Develop and maintain an excellent level of patient centric care
  • Support professional growth in clinical staff through identification of learning needs and facilitation of learning opportunities
  • Participate in all Quality Improvement projects by providing input as it pertains to nursing components for safe and efficient patient care
  • Ensure development and delivery of a comprehensive patient education process in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
  • Work with the Clinical Quality Assurance Program team on writing competencies and policies and SOPs
  • Directly manages nurse educators, compliance nurses and ancillary staff within the department
  • Evaluating the quality of work produced by subordinates, offering suggestions for improvement where appropriate
  • Manage the daily operations of the team and ensure compliance with quality assurance, education, and health and safety protocols
  • Managing the department's budget, including allocating funds to projects based on need and priority
  • Perform the following supervisory duties: Plan, organize, direct and evaluate programs. Build staffing plan to fit start up and long-term organizational goals. In conjunction with the team, ensure schedules are covered to meet all needs. Conduct and/or arrange where necessary, training for nursing staff, on board new hires, prepare performance evaluations, initiate disciplinary actions, and conduct any necessary in-service training. Develop, implement, and manage professional development model as it pertains to core competencies for staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing
  • Current valid NY Registered Nurse license
  • 5+ years of professional nursing leadership experience with 2+ years in an educator role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree BLS certified
  • Educational degree or certification
  • Knowledge of quality and safety standards/metrics in the outpatient clinical settings
  • Skilled in computer software applications, Microsoft office and experience with data management
  • Proficiency in teaching/educating the novice employee to the expert employee
  • Proven solid management and interpersonal skills

New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $85,000 to $167,300 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
