PALS Support Services (PALS SS) is a division of PALS (Pediatric Assessment Learning & Support), the neuropsychological practice of Drs. David Salsberg and Laura Tagliareni. Our Behavior Support Services department offers comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, private SEIT services, parent coaching, and school consultation. As a practice of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), we prioritize high-quality direct services and provide exceptional supervision exceeding BACB minimum requirements.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff BCBA to provide high-quality direct ABA services to clients with autism and related disorders. The Staff BCBA will work under the supervision of senior BCBAs and the Executive Directors, implementing treatment plans and collecting data using evidence-based practices. This role is ideal for newly certified BCBAs looking to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.This individual in this role must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and New York Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA-NY) who is looking to learn and grow under the mentorship of experienced BCBAs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 20-25 hours per week of direct ABA therapy in homes, schools (public and private), and community settings throughout New York City.
- Under the guidance of senior BCBAs, conduct initial and ongoing assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress to ensure effective interventions.
- Implement individualized treatments, utilizing ABA methodologies such as Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), and Skills-Based Treatment (SBT).
- Collect and analyze data on client progress to inform treatment decisions and modify interventions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely session notes, progress reports, and other required documentation in compliance with company policies and insurance regulations.
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to support skill generalization and provide parent training under supervision.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
- Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in New York required or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with autism and related disorders.
- Strong understanding of ABA principles, data collection, and evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with families, team members, and other professionals.
- Commitment to ethical and compassionate care for clients and families.
- Ability to travel throughout NYC for in-person sessions and meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with insurance-based ABA services and documentation requirements.
- Experience working with NYC DOE-funded ABA services.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, such as Hi Rasmus.
- New York State certification in Special Education is a plus, but not required.
