Position Summary: The deliver driver plays a key role in ensuring that materials, equipment, and supplies arrive safely and on time to job sites and customers across the region. This position combines hands-on work in the warehouse with professional driving duties that directly support the success of our field operations. Delivery drivers are responsible for loading and unloading materials, maintaining accurate delivery records, operating company vehicles safely, and assisting with warehouse inventory and organization.

This is a highly visible role that requires professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. The delivery driver represents USC Builds in the field, maintaining our reputation for excellence, care, and craftsmanship with every interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and log routes for morning and afternoon delivery trucks, with focus on delivery time commitments
  • Hands-on loading and unloading of product that is received into individual daily routes and secure loads
  • Move skids using a manual pallet jack, hand truck, and lift gate
  • Complete and maintain paperwork from the day's work and truck logs
  • Provide information to dispatcher throughout the day, such as delivery times, signature capture, picture capture and package refusals
  • Ensure truck cab and bed are emptied and cleaned daily at the end of every shift
  • Prepare and schedule maintenance on vehicles to determine needed repairs or inspections
  • Serve as warehouse back-up on an as needed basis
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Wear proper PPE at all times while in the shop/warehouse and on jobsites
  • Safely operate company vehicles, trailers and equipment to deliver materials to jobsites in a timely manner
  • Load and unload materials from shipments using manual or power equipment as needed
  • Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of company vehicles
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under the direction of the warehouse manager and/or supervisor to assist in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse
  • Assist with receiving, inventorying, and distributing materials and products
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently
  • Perform general cleanup and maintenance tasks to keep the warehouse/shop clean and organized
  • Follow company and OSHA safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures
  • Drive to job sites to deliver materials needed by our construction crews and our customers; while travel will generally be in and around Rochester, some extended day travel may be required
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal employees and customers regarding needs, sometimes adjusting priorities accordingly
  • Maintain detailed records of material delivered, including signatures, time stamps, picture capture, and documentation of refusals
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels by notifying supervisor of low stock items and participating in cycle counts
  • Operate our equipment with constant attention to safety, including driving company vehicles
  • Keep truck cab and bed clean, emptied, and organized daily
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of experience driving a 16' box truck, or similar vehicle
  • Ability to climb on and off the back of a truck, using side steps
  • Must be able to undergo a motor vehicle and background check
  • Prior experience in delivery, transportation or warehouse preferred but not required
  • Possess a clean, valid driver’s license; have reliable transportation, completion of OSHA 10 training. (or willingness to complete immediately upon hire)
  • Experience in a labor-intensive position and working outside in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials safely
  • Basic knowledge of common construction tools and equipment, including proper handling, identification, and safe use
  • Ability to assist in tracking tools, materials, and equipment using check-out systems or digital platforms
  • Forklift trained
Compensation:
  • $19.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience
