Revenue Cycle Coordinator
Location: New Paltz, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
Compensation: $58,240 - $68,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Coordinator to oversee and improve billing and collections workflows in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a solid background in medical billing and payer regulations. You'll supervise day-to-day revenue operations while contributing to process improvement and compliance initiatives. Revenue Cycle Coordinator Responsibilities
- Supervise daily accounts receivable, billing, and collection activities
- Provide staff guidance, conduct performance evaluations, and handle disciplinary actions when needed
- Analyze denial trends and develop solutions to reduce delays in reimbursement
- Coordinate with clearinghouse vendors and payers to ensure timely claim submission and remittance
- Collaborate with leadership and IT teams to implement changes related to new or updated payer plans and EPIC system configuration
- Support the creation and maintenance of work queue and follow-up standards
- Resolve escalated billing issues in coordination with appropriate internal departments
- Ensure adherence to FQHC, Article 28, Article 31, and commercial payer guidelines
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare billing and collections
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare, and Supplemental Payment Programs
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding, cash application, and aged accounts receivable
- Experience in billing for FQHCs, managed care, dental services, and sliding fee programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team management skills
- EPIC billing workflow experience strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret and analyze Crystal Reports and EPIC Workbench reports
- Prior experience as a Revenue Cycle Specialist III
- Associate degree or Medical Billing/Coding certification
- Ability to handle sensitive situations and staffing issues with professionalism
