Accountant

Bisley Inc. (DBA: Bisley North America) is looking for an Accountant. Location of Employment: New York, NY Job Duties Prepare and review accounting records, statements, and reports relevant to the wholesale sector, including transactions involving import and export activities, such as recording duties, tariffs, and international shipping costs; Perform accounting-related analysis such as profit/loss analysis, return on investment (ROI), break-even analysis of the retail incentive schemes of the company; Analyze industry wholesale development patterns in order to ensure accuracy, completeness in financial reporting, as well as conformance with accounting standards; Formulate accounting-related analysis of the wholesale product value chain, evaluating and determining the best profit margins for the factory, distributor, and dealer at every level, including consideration of import/export costs and international shipping expenses where applicable; Analyze the balance sheet of the company in order to appraise the bad debt ratio of the company and submit accounting-related suggestions to the management for enhancing the risk control, e.g., by improving the credit policies, enhancing collections, and adopting stringent credit analysis; Perform an accounting cost study of the overseas versus domestic supplier advantages and disadvantages, based on price, cost structure, as well as the shipping and tariffs impact on the company operation. Present accounting cost reports to the management of the company; Assist external CPAs in the preparations of corporate annual income tax returns, quarterly tax filings, as well as IRS/state filing extensions; Check accounts for variances and reconcile variances using the bank statements; Design, deploy, change, as well as maintain the accounting systems in order to facilitate the efficacy as well as accuracy in the financial reporting. Minimum Job Requirement Masters degree in accounting or a related field. One-year accounting or budgetary analysis related experience as an Accountant, Budget Analyst, or a related occupation in the wholesale industry with all of the following: 1) market trend assessment using historical data and forecasts, 2) break-even and ROI analysis for wholesale incentive or volume-based discount programs, 3) budget-to-actual variance reviews, and 4) cost analysis of import/export expenses, duties, and international shipping. Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, Recording macros and VBA.
