Part Time Middle School Math Teacher (Lutheran School)

St. Paul Lutheran School is located in Hilton, NY north of Rochester, near Lake Ontario. St. Paul Lutheran School is the chief ministry of St. Paul Lutheran Church serving children ages 2 through 8th grade for more than 60 years.

Job Overview & Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a love for serving children and a warm spirit that welcomes families into our school. You will create a positive and safe learning environment, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and be knowledgeable in Middle School Math. You will cultivate healthy and positive relationships with staff, students, and families of St. Paul. You will build trust and rapport with learners and participate in professional development and training as required.

Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing engaging lesson plans, foster a passion for learning, develop the whole student – physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially, and spiritually, as they grow as a student. Key responsibilities include curriculum development, classroom management, assessment and progress monitoring, parent and guardian engagement, professional development, and active participation in school-wide events and/or extracurricular activities.

The Part-Time Math Teacher is open to candidates interested in teaching any or all of our middle school grades 5, 6, and 7. Potential for full-time status based on school needs and course availability.

Experience:

Educational Training Required:

Teacher:

• At least a Bachelor Degree in Education or related field
• Appropriate state teaching certification or licensure
• Prior experience teaching in a school setting (ex. Student teaching, substitute teacher, classroom aide, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of standards and effective teaching practices
• Classroom management skills and effective behavior intervention strategies
• Knowledge of how to incorporate IEP/504 into lesson plans
• Proficient use of technology

• You will have a strong Christian Faith with active participation in a church and exhibit a commitment to Christian Education.
• Master Degree in Education
• Skill set and interests that compliment our school team.
