Application Development Officer Location New York, NY (Midtown area) :

*Job Summary*

The Bank of East Asia, Limited, New York Branch is currently seeking a to join its IT Team. The position takes complete responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Computer Room under the direction of the Application Development Manager. Must be prepared to work on flexible schedules including nights and weekends.

*Key Responsibilities*

• Helping end-user to accomplish daily operation job. Coordinates the activities of other operational staff to ensure system jobs are completed in a timely manner.
• Maintain current and detail procedures sufficiently to guide the operation of data center.
• Monitor and schedule computer processing jobs. Assumes responsibility for AS/400 operations, including backups and disaster recovery.
• Coding operation and application procedures, using high-level languages. e.g. Query, RPG, COBOL, AS/400 CL.
• Building screen formats, menus and files in conjunction with coded programs.
• Assist to carry out system upgrades and implementation of new or revised application software. Assist end users to learn and use new applications.
• Provide support in maintaining up-to-date systems and applications manuals, EDP contracts and documents etc.
• Provide support for maintenance of AS/400 system, peripherals and PC workstations.
• Provide support in maintaining the appropriate level and quantity of forms and supplies needed to produce reports and products.
• Assist Application Development Manager to recommend hardware and software and prepare purchases requisition.
• Interfaces with various department supervisors and managers regarding requests for specific functions, reports and products.
• Interfaces with vendors, Head Office support, internal operations and technical staff to resolve problems.
• Gather and analyze user requirements to support application development.
• Design, implement, and maintain data extraction processes while managing automation workflows and system integrations.
• Conduct testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting to resolve UAT and production issues efficiently.
• Assumes responsibility for general office administration, and keeping and maintaining fixed assets record within IT Department.
• Ability to effectively manage sensitive situations and confidential data
• Self-motivated and good problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Ability to collaborate with other departments and all levels of associates
• Knowledge and experience with AI technology and business application is a plus
• Experience in application of Cloud technology to address business requirement is a plus
• Knowledge of SDLC

*Desired Skills and Experiences*

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College, major in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering; or three plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Application development knowledge and experience. SQL scripting. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point and Windows environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
