Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a full-time Medical adjunct to join our teams in Beacon & Poughkeepsie.
A Medical adjunct helps patients and the clinical team at designated health center in support of medical care as directed by the nursing and medical staff and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the Center. this job offer performs job tasks in compliance with systems and job specific standards and additional jobs or tasks assigned.
Essential tasks and Responsibilities of a Medical adjunct:

»Takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests, record patient data in eCW, (laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, Smoke status, etc.), Document reason for visit and insure CVRs are completed as needed

»Perform in-house labs, perform quality control and maintenance of equipment in conformity with organizational protocols

»Draws blood and collects other specimens as directed by providers and processes accordingly

»Conducts routine tests in areas such as serology, hematology, chemistry, histology and cytology using standard techniques and equipment. Collect specimens for out-side labs (ex. Pap, cultures, etc.)

»Prepare exam room and any needed equipment and assists/chaperones during examination and treatment of patients

»Keeps clinical area stocked and in good order. Maintains stock of laboratory supplies. Assures that all dated material is kept current and disposes of outdated supplies

»Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs according to organizational policy and/or manufacturers guidelines

»Perform basic clerical work in service area; answer phones in appropriate manner, communicate problems/concerns to nurse; handle telephone inquiries

»Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained. Keeps records for laboratory tests.

»Performs EKGs
Minimum Education Requirement: High School diploma/GED with Medical adjunct Training Certificate
Preferred Education Requirement: Associate's degree with Medical adjunct National Certificate
Minimum Related Work practice: 1 year
Hourly Range: $19.00-$22.00/hour
