Salary: $150,000.00 USD Annually - $180,000.00 USD Annually Description: The Judge Group is currently seeking a Director of Business Development with significant experience in the defense sector. - Responsible for prospecting and generating new business focusing on Department of Defense as well as Federal/Civilian agencies.
- Contributes inputs and strategy into company’s business plan, marketing materials and initial prospecting of strategic customers and opportunities.
- Works with customers via the 8(a) direct award process, as well as lead generation for competitive proposal opportunities.
- Frequent travel for customer visits, industry days, attending tradeshows and conventions, supporting company exhibit booths required.
- Responsible for building (and subsequently owning) a pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities; prepare and present gate reviews specific to the opportunities recommended for pursuit and capture.
- Supports developing teaming agreements and strategic alliances
- Effectively engages with capture manager(s), solution architect and program manager/teams to ensure opportunity objectives and initial solutioning effectively transition into capture activities
- Communicating resource needs and leveraging resources assigned is critical to the success of every business development professional
- Collaborating with subject & technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers
- Gathers, assesses, and validates customer requirements working closely with Capture and Program Managers -- identifies related needs and constraints that impact winning solution
- Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats - conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.
- Participates in gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or technical field required.
- Must have at least 10 years of relevant experience in business development for IT professional services in the Federal/DoD market.
- Proven experience winning new business; experience and success developing business for 8(a)-certified federal contractors strongly preferred.
- Ability to present an aggressive yet sensitive approach to building a national revenue base.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to make sound business decisions.
- Proficient in the use of computers, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills a must.
- Must be a strong multi-tasking individual and demonstrate the ability to sell multiple products and follow a daily sales plan.
