Loan Servicing Supervisor

: Overview:

Responsible for supervision of assigned Loan Servicing department personnel; direct the daily operational activities relating to Investor Reporting, Investor Loan Delivery, and General Ledger reconciliations. Oversee various loan servicing functions including loan booking, loan maintenance, file administration, escrow administration, investor reporting, tax and insurance monitoring, payoff processing, and security perfections/releases. Assist in problem solving; responsible for compliance with various regulations and Company policies as they apply to Loan Servicing; monitor opportunities for procedure efficiencies and cost controls; fill gaps/needs in workflow by performing daily task and functions as needed; work across department and business lines as part of Tompkins Shared Services.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with the company Mission, Vision and Values statements, and ensure customers are provided with exceptional service.
  • Directly supervise and manage assigned personnel as follows:
    • Select new personnel as appropriate, with the assistance of the Loan Servicing Manager, and Human Resources.
    • Review employee performance throughout the probationary period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
    • Make provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel.
    • Monitor vacation and PTO scheduling and appropriate staff coverage to ensure customers are provided with exceptional service within expected
    • department goals and daily work is completed within department specified timeframes.
    • Organize, schedule, and distribute work among assigned personnel.
    • Keep personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward
    • communication from employees is encouraged.
    • Ensure assigned staff compliant with established policies, procedures and statutory regulations.
    • Administer personnel policies and procedures as established by company policy.
    • Establish, monitor, and communicate performance goals and standards.
  • Interact with other departments and bank functions, i.e., Consumer and Mortgage Originations, Central Recovery, etc., for a smooth flow of information and collaborations to achieve objectives.
  • Monitor team and prepare activity reports as requested by management.
  • Assist in the review, modification, and /or establishment of procedures and controls as necessary for efficient and cost-effective operation; maintain up-to- date written procedures for all assigned functions.
  • Monitor regulatory and policy changes and implement procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Take lead role in Jack Henry upgrade and release testing as well as annual Disaster Recovery testing.
  • Provide leadership to the Loan Servicing department to ensure its effective and efficient operation, while balancing work flow to optimize productivity and proper staff allocation.
  • Ensure the availability of adequate services and materials to support staff activity, including EDP services, technical materials, forms, and office equipment.
  • Provide backup support for team members as needed. * Perform daily servicing duties as required.
  • Respond to advanced customer requests for information or error resolution.
  • Research documentation and loan history information in response to advanced customer requests for information or error resolution as necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in related field, and/or specialized training in related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience.
  • Must be able to work three (3) days a week in our Corporate Headquarters office in Ithaca, NY
  • Advanced knowledge in all areas of loan administration, to include; loan servicing, documentation, boarding and construction related activities preferred.
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient analytical, mathematical and accounting skills.
  • Organizational abilities.
  • Interpersonal relations and communicative skills, verbal and written.
  • Thorough knowledge of current lending regulations and loan servicing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of consumer and mortgage loan types.
  • Knowledge of other banking services.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet application capabilities.
  • Aptitude to work independently.
