Maintenance Mechanic
Are you a skilled mechanic looking to grow your career in a fast-paced food production environment? We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Bohemia. You will be responsible for ensuring our production lines run smoothly by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex machinery, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
Our facility operates under strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety standards, and we value technicians who take pride in the quality and safety of their work.- xperience: 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (Food, Beverage, or Pharma preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of motors, gearboxes, bearings, and electrical control systems.
- Schematics: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Food Safety: Knowledge of GMP and food safety protocols.
- Tools: Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multi-meters).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods in a production environment.

- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine PMs on conveyors, blenders, fillers, and packaging equipment to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Facility Support: Assist with general facility repairs, including HVAC, plumbing, and basic building maintenance.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and ensure all work is performed in accordance with SQF, OSHA, and FDA guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement equipment modifications to increase efficiency and safety.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond quickly to line breakdowns to restore production in a timely manner.
