Duties Description Under the supervision of higher-level personnel, the Park Worker 3 will:- Supervise others including assigning and reviewing work, training, and developing employee skills, and evaluating seasonal employees.- Interact with the public, answer visitor questions, and resolves patron complaints.- Prepare seasonal payrolls, timesheets, and perform other functions as needed.- Assist in coordinating and executing recreation events conducted at the park.- Keep inventory of equipment, monitor condition, and schedule or perform repairs.- Perform assigned park-related duties such as litter removal around the building, cleaning structures, and snow removal.- Assisting in emergency situations by applying emergency procedures and practices, directing staff, and working with patrons to minimize potential problems.- Working closely with volunteers, the community and other facilities and vendors to assure NYS Parks' mission is always met. - Perform a variety of administrative duties by assisting with inventories and collection of data for work orders and other assignments as needed.- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility;OR - One year of experience in any of the following fields:- Law enforcement or security- Firefighting- Emergency Medical Services - Environmental education or stewardship- Natural resources management (e.g., forest management, wildlife management/preservation)- Historic preservation or interpretation- Landscaping or grounds maintenance OR - One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces;OR - Thirty (30) semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university;OR - Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program;OR - Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.

Additional Comments Appointees who work in Suffolk County will receive an additional $4,000 annual downstate adjustment.
