Marketing Specialist - East Coast

Position Overview: We are seeking an outgoing, goal-oriented, and resourceful Marketing Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for developing and executing local marketing strategies for our East Coast stores, total of 8 stores in New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Asian grocery landscape and be able to drive foot traffic, support store sales, and enhance the overall in-store experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute local marketing strategies tailored to individual store locations to increase foot traffic and sales.
  • Plan and support in-store events, primarily on weekends, to create an energetic and engaging shopping environment.
  • Create, update, and manage in-store signage, promotional materials, and marketing assets.
  • Assist with competitive analysis and local market research to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Partner with store managers to enhance in-store presentation, merchandising, and overall customer experience.
  • Manage and post content for local social media and digital marketing campaigns, focusing on Millennial and Gen Z engagement.
  • Engage effectively with customers from diverse cultural backgrounds, including first- and second-generation Asian American communities.
  • Travel regularly to store locations to support on-site marketing activities and event execution.
  • Track basic marketing performance metrics and provide insights to help optimize campaigns.
  • Assist in building relationships with local media, influencers, and community partners.
  • Coordinate with vendors for promotional partnerships and in-store demonstrations.
  • Support customer loyalty programs and local promotions to improve customer retention.
  • Assist with seasonal marketing campaigns and peak sales initiatives.
  • Help manage marketing budgets by tracking expenses and ensuring activities stay within budget.
  • Prepare regular updates and reports on marketing activities and results for internal stakeholders.

Experience & Background:

  • 2–5+ years of marketing experience, with flexibility based on role level (Junior to Senior Marketing Specialist).
  • Experience in food, grocery, retail, CPG, or lifestyle brands strongly preferred but not required.
  • Hands-on experience executing local, retail, or community-based marketing campaigns is a plus.

Digital & Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms, including:
    Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other emerging social channels
    Experience with Meta Business Suite, TikTok Ads Manager, or similar tools preferred
  • Familiarity with analytics and performance tracking tools such as Google Analytics, social platform insights, and basic reporting dashboards.
  • Ability to track KPIs such as engagement, reach, foot traffic, and campaign performance, and adjust tactics accordingly.

Language & Cultural Fit:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) — spoken and written — required.
  • Strong interest in and understanding of the Asian grocery market, food culture, and multicultural consumer communities, including first- and second-generation Asian Americans.

Work Style & Competencies:

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with solid project management and time-management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort engaging both internal teams and customers.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support store locations, events, and on-site marketing initiatives.

Legal Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20-30 pounds at times

  • Required Travel: 25%-50%
  • Salary: 67,000-72,000 /year
