HireNow Staffing is working on behalf of a modern financial services firm supporting some of the most dynamic startups, privately held companies, and high-growth entrepreneurs across the country. This is not your traditional accounting firm, and they aren't looking for a traditional tax manager.

They need a Tax Lead who thrives at the intersection of compliance and strategy, someone with sharp technical skills and a keen sense of how tax planning fits into the broader business picture. What You'll Be Doing:

• Hands-on Tax Preparation: Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and individuals many operating across multiple jurisdictions.

• Client Advisory: Offer consultative, light-touch guidance to clients navigating evolving tax needs, including entity structure, deductions, and risk reduction.

• State Compliance & Nexus Awareness: Ensure filings align with multistate tax obligations, especially for fast-growing businesses expanding footprints.

• Process Improvements: Identify and implement ways to improve accuracy, efficiency, and automation in tax workflows internally and for clients.

• Support for Emerging Ventures: Help early-stage and venture-backed clients understand the tax implications of equity, fundraising, and structuring choices.

We're Looking for Someone Who Has:

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in tax accounting, ideally in both public accounting and in-house advisory roles.

• Experience with startups, founder-led firms, or privately funded businesses and the flexibility that comes with supporting entrepreneurial clients.

• A strong foundation in both corporate and pass-through entity taxation (S-Corps, partnerships, multi-member LLCs).

• A current CPA license (required).

• Familiarity with modern tax platforms and digital workflows; bonus if you've used CCH, ProConnect, GoSystem, or similar tools.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal especially when translating tax concepts for non-tax professionals.

• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to thrive in a client-centric, fast-paced environment.
