We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team in Tarrytown, New York. This role involves handling payroll operations, managing large volumes of data, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. As a long-term contract position in the higher education industry, this opportunity is ideal for professionals skilled in payroll systems and data management.
Responsibilities:• Process semi-monthly payroll for the MN pay group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Generate detailed reports for Student Accounts to monitor Federal Work Study funds, distributing these to relevant departments.
• Manage the Employees and Dependents Tuition Remission Benefit Program, advising employees on taxable and non-taxable tuition portions.
• Provide schedules for processing taxable tuition benefits, including dates and amounts.
• Collaborate with team members on payroll-related projects and provide general support as needed.
• Assist managers with online timesheet entries and ensure accuracy in multi-tax payroll systems.
• Maintain accurate records and perform regular audits to uphold data integrity.
• Prepare Federal Work Study Program reports for internal and external audits.
• Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with advanced computer literacy.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team environment and work independently.
• Experience with payroll systems and data management.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred or nearing completion.
• Familiarity with multi-tax payroll systems and reporting processes.
