Duties Description As a Head Housekeeper, you will oversee cleaning and housekeeping activities including:- Planning and scheduling staff assignments; reassigning staff as needed to ensure work is completed and handle emergency cleaning projects- Inspecting buildings for compliance with cleaning program- Investigating complaints regarding unsatisfactory cleaning performance

Minimum Qualifications Do you have professional housekeeping and supervisory experience? Rochester Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Head Housekeeper to supervise staff and assignments in their Environmental Services Department. Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Head Housekeeper if they have;*4 years of housekeeping work experience in a fully functioning housekeeping department in a health care or institutional setting, 1 year of which must have included administrative or supervisory experience; OR- Executive Housekeepers Certificate issued by the International Housekeepers Association, Inc. and 2 years of housekeeping work experience in a fully functioning housekeeping department in a health care or institutional setting, 1 year of which must have included administrative or supervisory experience.ORCandidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Head Housekeeper eligible list.ORCandidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.ORIn accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Head Housekeeper at Rochester Psychiatric Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.The promotion field for the Head Housekeeper position consists of candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as a Supervising Housekeeper.
