Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. TODAY is looking for a Social Media Video Editor to join its social media team. The ideal candidate should have experience in broadcast and/or digital newsrooms, the ability to quickly edit, color correct and package together compelling social video. This candidate should also have the ability to find and clear must-see UGC video, repackage broadcast into vertical video shorts and work across various NBCU brands to reach new audiences. This candidate should possess curiosity, fact-checking acumen, knowledge of social media trends and overall enthusiasm for short-form storytelling. Monitoring algorithm trends and patterns while pivoting to ever-evolving changes across social platforms (like TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, etc.) is a must.
As the Social Media Video Editor, you should be adept at time management, work independently as a self starter and know how to work across multiple projects at the same time. You must know how to differentiate and optimize video content for a variety of platforms.
The Social Media Video Editor will work across multiple internal teams at times that touch upon: broadcast, podcasts, marketing tentpoles and more.

Responsibilities:
+ Quickly and creatively edit broadcast video to optimize for social platforms
+ Cut vertical video clips from broadcast in real-time
+ Monitor news and trending stories
+ Clear UGC footage internally and/or externally
+ Provide technical and operational support to other editors and producers as needed
+ Manage and archive completed projects
+ Adjust templates accordingly and work on bettering the quality of video as time progresses
+ Manage multiple projects and communication between stakeholders, simultaneously, with tight deadlines
+ 4+ years of video editing experience, media managing
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
+ Expertise and fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and Adobe Media Encoder. After Effects is a bonus!
+ Expertise in social media platforms and their internal products
+ Savviness in emerging technologies
+ Strong writing skills and copyediting
+ General knowledge of social media patterns and trends
+ Ability to understand and interpret data and analytics meaningfully
+ Strong understanding of video production workflows, including ingesting, syncing, organizing, editing, encoding, and delivery of media
+ Knowledge of broadcast and digital video post-production standards
+ Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and time-management skills
+ Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
Desired Qualifications
+ Knowledge of Premiere and Avid
+ Multimedia and graphics knowledge
+ Experience in a broadcast production environment
+ Experience working in a fast-paced news environment
+ Experience working with motion graphics templates and knowledge of After Effects
+ Basic proficiency at color correction, especially with knowledge of DaVinci Resolve
+ Basic proficiency at editing sound, especially with knowledge of Adobe Audition
+ Experience shooting with a variety of professional video cameras, DSLRs, etc.
Additional Requirements:
+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $93,000 - $110,000
