The Opportunity
Greenwich House is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide clinical leadership, oversight, and innovation for the Center for Healing (CFH), a NYS OASAS 822 Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) transitioning to a Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment (COT) model. The position ensures excellence in patient care, compliance with all regulatory standards, fiscal responsibility, and the integration of innovative health strategies.
The Medical Director supervises all medical staff—including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and the Nursing Supervisor—and plays a key role on the Health Services Strategy and Innovation Team, advancing strategic initiatives, clinical quality, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and mentor medical staff, including oversight of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and the nursing supervisor.
- Ensure all medical and psychiatric services meet OASAS, DOHMH regulations.
- Oversee and participate in diagnostic assessments, prescribing, medication management, and continuity of psychiatric care.
- Manage in conjunction with leadership team infection control, overdose prevention, and quality improvement programs consistent with NYSDOH guidelines.
- Ensure medical team provides clinical consultation to staff on complex treatment plans and cases.
- Ensure on-call availability and provider coverage.
- Administer and evaluate all medical operations at CFH, maintaining consistent documentation, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee adherence to the medical budget, ensuring responsible and efficient use of resources.
- Partner with leadership on rate enhancement, reimbursement strategies, and performance metrics.
- Participate in the development and implementation of integrated care models and EHR/AI innovations to improve efficiency and outcomes.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a network of referral and consultative relationships with hospitals, specialists, and community health providers for coordinated patient care.
- Supervise medical residents and addiction medicine fellows and ensure effective training and mentorship within the program.
- Support the integration of primary and behavioral health services under the COT model.
- Represent CFH at OASAS and community meetings, promoting collaboration and program visibility.
- Contribute to organizational strategy, policy development, and quarterly Health Services Innovation meetings.
- Attend internal staff and leadership meetings and contribute to clinical and administrative decision-making.

What You’ll Bring
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed to practice in New York State.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine.
- Minimum of 1 year of substance use treatment or behavioral health experience.
- Proven ability to manage clinical, operational, and financial functions within a healthcare setting.
- Experience with CARF or JCHAO accreditation and HIPAA compliance required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Self-starter able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in EHR systems and openness to technology-driven solutions.
Employment Details
- Location: 190 Mercer Street, New York, NY
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-2:30pm (one day hybrid, flexibility required)
- FLSA Classification: Exempt
- Employment Type: Full-Time, 35 hours/week
- Reports To: Chief Health and Human Services Officer
- Union Representation: Non-Union
Salary Range
The expected base salary rate for this position is $175,000 - $200,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of this posting and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and organizational needs.
