Accounting Specialist

Our consulting group provides a full array of commissioning services for both new and existing buildings, and our technical services group provides start-up services on complex HVAC equipment from a wide range of manufacturers. The MIH team consists of experienced industry-leading professionals, focused on logistical, energy and cost-effective solutions to our clients. We are currently looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team!

Responsibilities:

• Invoice Management: Prepare and send invoices to clients promptly, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.


• Payment Collection: Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable, contacting clients as necessary to ensure timely payments.


• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.


• Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to client billing and payments.


• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on account status, aging analysis, and collections efforts for management review.


• Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any inquiries or concerns regarding their accounts.


• Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations, updating procedures as necessary to maintain compliance.


• Accounts payable and receivable: Process incoming payments, pay bills, send invoices, and ensure timely payments from clients.


• Financial recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, journals, and receipts.


• Payroll and taxes: Assist with or manage payroll processing, prepare tax returns, handling sales tax, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.


• Auditing: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation.


• End of Month: Will be participating in month end closing process.


• Other job duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of accounting related experience


• 5+ years in the HVAC service environment (preferred)


• Working knowledge of Business Central Systems


• General knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)


• Excellent Microsoft Suites skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc)


• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (preferred)


• Detail-oriented and accurate data entry skills


• Organized, self-motivated team player


• Clear oral and written communication skills


• Ability to keep confidentiality and maintain high level of integrity

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 with flexibility based on experience and skills.
