Restaurant and Bar manager at the Shade Bar & Grill here at the Delta by Marriott Hotel. Location: 200 Genesee Street Utica, NY 13502 Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour based on experience Employee discount to Marriott Hotels around the world Health insurance plan available 401k plan available Paid holidays off including birthdays Job Description: This position will manage the restaurant and also be the client liaison for events, assist setting up rooms for events, serve events, supervise banquet team and assist supervising the restaurant. This will be primarily a PM position working afternoons until the conclusion of events. Assists restaurant and banquet staff in servicing all customers and banquet activities in order to ensure a successful function and repeat business. Essential Functions:

• Ensure that all functions are correctly posted on door cards.
• Supervise the set up of function rooms to include placement of linens, silver, china and glassware according to event order specifications. Visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and set up.
• Verbally communicate in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of the function with the kitchen, service, beverage, convention services and engineering staffs, as well as the guest host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service and adherence to all applicable federal, state, local safety and health regulations and corporate standards.
• Supervise clean-up of function room and proper breakdown and storage of equipment.
• Entering billing information into PMS or sales system in order to generate a final guest check. Prepare daily summary sheet and submits to Front Desk with all completed banquet checks.
• Check staff attendance according to schedules, adjust and reassign server stations as necessary in order to provide quality service during functions.
• Attends meetings such as B.E.O meeting for upcoming hotel events. Department meeting etc. as needed
• Order supplies and linens for functions from Purchasing and Housekeeping departments
• Separates, posts and distributes event order sheets
• Assists servers with the execution of events according to the event order and hotel quality standards
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards,
• guest relations and etiquette
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware.
• Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local health and safety regulations
