Cleaner Floor Care

SKJ Facilities Management is a leading provider of cleaning services in the Southern Tier, offering permanent employment opportunities and a commitment to maintaining clean and safe environments for our customers.

Currently seeking to fill:

• Daytime position: Monday - Friday, 9AM - 1PM, with additional shifts on scheduled Saturdays/Sundays (20+ hrs/wk).
• Primary worksite is in the Horseheads ST Business Park (Holding Point) with additional project sites in the area (Corning, Elmira). Personal transportation is required to commute to/from these locations (no public transportation).
• Position involves working in active warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean assigned facility areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, offices, lobbies, conference rooms, warehouse floors, and stairwells.
• Perform tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass, emptying trash, dusting surfaces, polishing fixtures, sanitizing surfaces, and stocking and cleaning dispensers.
• Perform routine floor maintenance as well as assigned project work to include stripping/refinishing. Operate powered floor machines such as sweepers and autoscrubbers and maintain equipment for proper use per specifications.
• Work a consistent, regular schedule to support the SKJ team and its customers by creating a clean environment.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Honesty and integrity in all aspects of work.
• Floor care maintenance knowledge is preferred (carpet cleaning, stripping/waxing vinyl tile, etc.).
• Desire to perform detailed cleaning duties.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stamina to stand for long periods, walk, bend, twist, climb stairs, and reach high and low during shifts.
• Ability to work with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools to complete assigned tasks.
• Compliance with safety policies and procedures, including wearing necessary PPE provided by SKJ.
• Ability to read and write in English to read work-related information and complete checklists.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
