Resilient Children & Families, Family Community Engagement Manager
Summary of duties
The FCE/ERSEA Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring high‑quality, compliant, and family‑centered services across the Birth–5 Early Head Start/Head Start program. This position oversees all ERSEA functions—Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance—as well as Family and Community Engagement functions. The Manager is responsible for implementing systems that meet Federal Head Start Performance Standards, NYS UPK requirements, and NYS OCFS Day Care Regulations.
This role provides direct supervision and support to assigned staff, ensuring effective family engagement practices, accurate enrollment management, and consistent documentation.
The FCE/ERSEA Manager contributes to program planning, develop operational strategies, and collaborates across departments to strengthen family partnerships. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, knowledge of community resources, and the ability to work with diverse families in a fast‑paced environment.
Education requirements
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology or equivalent with experience in a related field of work with 3-5 years’ experience in related field of work

Experience working in field specific to job duties.
Experience working with database systems and tracking systems and a variety of virtual platforms.
Strong organizational and analytical math skills.
Communication and language skills to comprehend documents and other correspondence.
Strong computer skills with confident knowledge of Excel Microsoft office and other office equipment.
Ability to interact with customers from a variety of backgrounds and with various levels of management.
Ability to exercise independent judgement.
Capability to apply common sense understanding to conduct instructions in written and oral form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in complex situations.
Experience in advocacy work.
Knowledge of working with community resources.
The ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, meet agency standards per position and consistent, reliable transportation that will allow regular travel in and around the service area.
