Registered Nurse,

This Registered Nurse position requires a minimum of two years of experience in a hospital setting, focusing on complex medical-surgical patients, including those requiring post-operative care. The role involves providing direct patient care, utilizing advanced skills in various procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced tertiary care hospital environment. A current New York Registered Nurse license is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

- Providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population with complex medical needs.
- Monitoring patients on telemetry, utilizing rapid response/code teams, and managing various medical devices (pacemakers, feeding tubes, central lines, PICCs, IVs).
- Administering medications, blood products, and adhering to heparin protocols.
- Performing procedures such as phlebotomy, wound care, and managing surgical drains.
- Utilizing various oxygen delivery systems (HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable tanks).
- Managing tracheostomies and implementing isolation precautions.
- Performing patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in EPIC.
- Managing a patient ratio of 1:6, with the ability to float to a 1:5 to 1:7 ratio in MedSurg.
- Performing charge nurse duties (as required).

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Current New York Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum two years of hospital experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Proficiency in medical-surgical nursing, including telemetry monitoring, and management of various medical devices and procedures (as listed in Responsibilities).
- Experience with a patient ratio of 1:6, with the ability to float to 1:5-1:7.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

Special Considerations:

- Must be proficient in EPIC.
- Every other weekend (EOW) rotation.
- Must be able to handle a complex patient population in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacements is highly preferred.
