Medical Assistant 3 Endo Tech (Wantagh)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience or training in endoscopy technology or related clinical procedures.
- Previous experience working in an endoscopy or gastroenterology department.
- Certification in Endoscopy Technician or similar specialized credential.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Strong knowledge of infection control standards specific to endoscopic procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by verifying medical histories, explaining the process, and addressing patient concerns.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures by handling instruments, monitoring patient status, and ensuring procedural efficiency.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic equipment and instruments following established infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and equipment maintenance logs in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to schedule procedures, manage supplies, and ensure the endoscopy suite is properly stocked and organized.
