Bartender

Family Meal at Blue Hill, located in New York City just off Washington Square Park, is seeking a passionate and professional Bartender .

Family Meal at Blue Hill is a Michelin starred restaurant and leading voice in the sustainable food movement. Located in the original space opened by Chef Dan Barber, Family Meal strives to provide intimate dining experiences that evoke the sensations of dinner with friends and family while highlighting locally sourced and environmentally conscious ingredients.

• Experienced: At least 2 years of experience in a fine-dining setting.
• Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe or Food Handlers Certificate) preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all tasks required to open the bar for service, including organizing spirits and preparing cocktail infusions, garnishes, syrups, bitters and service ice
• Possess in-depth knowledge about spirits, wine, beer and all ingredients available
• Execute cocktail orders in a timely manner while maintaining the highest level of service for guests dining at the bar
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to select seasonal ingredients for the creation of cocktails and zero proof beverages.
• Maintain stock of all available beverage at proper temperatures
• Assist managers with monthly inventory
• Maintain a clean, organized bar station at all times
• Identify low beverage items and alert Managers in a timely manner to maintain adequate bar inventory
• Perform all other aspects of service when necessary including running food, clearing tables, restocking service items, maintaining service areas, polishing and cleaning
• Report all relevant feedback to other team members and supervisors
• Available to perform the role of dining room Captain when necessary and scheduled
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of all food and beverage items in order to guide guests through their dining experience and provide insight and education tableside.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety protocols are met at all times, including adherence to food safety codes and fire regulations.

The Details:

• Compensation: $16.50 per hour with tips.
• Benefits: Access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, and Paid Time Off.
• Location & Hours: Full-time, in-person position at Family Meal at Blue Hill in Manhattan, NY. Must be available for evenings and weekends including lunch services on Saturday and Sunday.
