Technical Product Manager

The Opportunity:

Safran Federal Systems is seeking a Technical Product Manager to lead and advance our Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) simulation product lines. This role will serve as a key interface between engineering, sales, marketing, and customers—ensuring our PNT simulation solutions continue to meet evolving mission-critical demands. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in PNT technologies and is eager to grow within a dynamic, mission-driven product team under the mentorship of senior product leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

Product Ownership:

• Drive the lifecycle of PNT simulation products—from concept to delivery and sustainment.


• Align product development with technical specifications, customer needs, and strategic objectives.


• Contribute to and maintain a forward-looking product roadmap based on customer feedback, industry shifts, and internal vision.

Technical Leadership:

• Bring technical expertise in PNT systems and simulation architectures to guide product direction.


• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to define feature requirements, assess technical feasibility, and support integration efforts.


• Maintain and contribute to technical documentation including system specifications, configuration guides, and user manuals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with systems, software, and electrical engineering teams to ensure design alignment and technical execution.


• Support proposal development and lead the technical articulation of product capabilities.


• Interface with marketing and sales to develop product messaging and competitive positioning.


• Keep commercial teams informed of product updates, features, and pricing to drive effective go-to-market strategies.

Customer & Market Engagement:

• Engage with customers to understand use cases, challenges, and unmet needs.


• Support technical troubleshooting, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.


• Collect and prioritize customer feedback to feed future development cycles.

Continuous Improvement:

• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to inform product evolution.


• Identify opportunities for internal process improvement across the product development lifecycle.

What you bring to Safran Federal Systems:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or relevant military experience.


• A minimum of 4 years of navigation, assured PNT, GNSS, or related technologies, preferably within the aerospace and defense industry.


• Proven technical experience with PNT simulation products or other related areas.

• Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create clear, concise technical documentation.


• Adaptability to evolving market conditions and technology trends.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build confidence and trust while interacting with diverse teams.


• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

Preferred:

• Active Secret security clearance.


• Background in GNSS, NAVWAR, or simulation environments.


• Experience supporting DoD customers.


• Prior product or project management experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time.


• Occasionally move throughout the office to access files, equipment, and collaborative spaces.
