HVAC Service Technician

Job Description

• Start up, commission, and re-commission customer systems utilizing DDC technology

• Troubleshoot mid-level system problems or assist others in resolving issues

• Work with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation

• Deliver turnkey project completion for small projects (80 or fewer budgeted hours)

• Handle unitary systems (VAV, FPB, FCU)

• Work with small AHUs, basic CW/HW systems, and front-end setups

• Complete all required commissioning documentation and maintain accurate As-Built drawings

• Submit paperwork on time (time sheets, expense reports, work orders, on-site documentation, project status reports)

• Manage total system operation from controllers to sensors, including software loading

• Set up trends, alarms, and reports; collaborate with customer IT personnel

• Calibrate systems using electronic test equipment (multi-meters, network terminals, laptops)

• Perform mid-level static commissioning of software programming

• Conduct site-specific training for owners/operators on the total system

• Set up operator workstations with all associated software

• Perform daily or advised job database backups

• Assist with project turnover to the Service Department

• Communicate with customers upon arrival and before leaving the site

• Track and record job progress; keep Project Manager informed

• Review customer systems and identify areas for improvement or scope issues

• Maintain a daily log of job-related activities

• Adhere to safety standards with high regard for employee and subcontractor safety

• Maintain computer and networking skills for laptops and mobile devices

• Understand operation and control of mechanical equipment and control sequences

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls (3- or 4-year program)

• Field experience in installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls

• Ability to understand and navigate third-party control systems and integrations

• Some experience with Automated Logic and Phoenix software, including:

• WebCtrl, SiteBuilder, ViewBuilder, LogicBuilder

• InterOp 3.02, Alert, Draw, EDB, Eikon

• Supervision, Accel Works

• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous challenges across different disciplines

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Queens, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
