Job Summary

The Sustainability Manager oversees program development, management, and execution of sustainability programs that support the strategic plan of continued growth focusing on doing what is right for people and the planet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements training programs and best practices that assist the field with implementing sustainability programs
  • Manages sustainability projects, measures KPIs, and provides updates to business.
  • May act as Sustainability expert for sales and retention teams
  • Coordinates with internal and external research, analytical, and consulting teams to develop sustainability activities and protocols; directs or supports measurement and evaluation
  • Acts as the sustainability resource for clients, customers, and team member questions and concerns
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including Compass Sectors and support departments, strategic partners, and other sustainability-related organizations
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in business, hospitality, communications, or related field
  • Desired 5-7 years professional experience in sustainability, project management, hospitality industry operations or sales
  • Experience in sustainability strongly preferred
  • Project Management or sales experience strongly preferred
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills including public speaking
  • Strong presentation and time management skills; strong management and leadership skills, advanced problem-solving skills, and outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Culinary and/or food service experience preferred
  • Sustainability certification preferred
  • Familiarity with ESG ratings (e.g., MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, S&P) preferred
  • Ability to travel
