Chief of Staff to the Executive Deputy Commissioner of Administration

The Chief of Staff will operate with a flexible level of authority depending on the division and initiative at times directly coordinating and managing work streams on the EDC's behalf, and at other times serving as an advisor and coordinator who keeps priorities aligned across division leadership. The successful candidate will bring strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to move fluidly between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution. Responsibilities - Executive Support & Strategic Oversight: Serve as a direct extension of the EDC of Administration, helping translate agency and Commissioner priorities into actionable plans across HRSD, the Finance Department, and Procurement (ACCO). Track deliverables, deadlines, and open items across all divisions, and flag risks or delays before they escalate. - Cross-Divisional Coordination: Serve as a connective point between HRSD, Finance, and Procurement/ACCO leadership, ensuring alignment on funding, staffing, and operational priorities. Depending on the initiative, directly manage work streams or coordinate through division leadership, adjusting approach based on the EDC's guidance and the nature of the work. - OMB & External Stakeholder Relations: Support the EDC's role as the agency's lead representative on financial, budgetary, staffing, and operational matters with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), City Hall, and other city and state partners. Help prepare briefing materials, track commitments made in stakeholder meetings, and follow up on action items. - Special Projects & Initiatives: Lead or co-lead special initiatives on behalf of the EDC, such as data-driven workload and headcount justification efforts, funding model development, and process improvement projects (e.g., procurement or CP-review timelines). Drive these projects from framing through execution. Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience related to the projects and policies to be studied in the particular position; or
