We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join a private family office, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records, reviewing daily credit card and bank activity, and supporting the overall financial activity of the family. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, ideally within a family office. This role requires a disciplined, hands-on professional who can proactively monitor daily transactions across multiple accounts and produce tailored financial reports. Discretion, precision, and the ability to handle complex, confidential financial matters are essential. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and strong communication skills are a must, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with external advisors and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate family expense activity, including flagging any discrepancies.
- Process and reconcile accounts payable/receivable, bank accounts, and credit card statements
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Track capital contributions, distributions, and intercompany transactions
- Liaise with external CPAs for tax payments and refunds, compliance, and annual filings
- Maintain proper documentation and filing for all transactions and agreements
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and evolving regulatory requirements
- Handle confidential financial information with the highest degree of discretion
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a family office or private wealth environment
- Experience with brokerage accounts is a plus
- Experience working with UHNW individual
- Proficiency in NetSuite, QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), Excel, and document management systems
- Experience managing complex ownership structures, including multi-tiered LLCs and trusts
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work independently
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CB, or CMA) a plus
- Please note this role is on site, in our NYC HQ, 4 - 5 days per week
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Salary Range
$75,000 - $100,000 USD
