Requirements:Candidate will have the following: 5+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience within a major law firm setting (experience will be current or very recent) ; Solid experience in all aspects of commercial real estate including title and survey reviews, purchases, sales, financings and leasing ; Highly organized and possess the ability to prioritize.
Stellar academic credentials ; College degree and/or paralegal certificate required ; Strong research, verbal & written communication skills ; Keen working knowledge of MSOffice (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Day to Day Responsibilities:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing documents: Draft and assess contracts, lease agreements, closing documents, and other legal documents.
- Reviewing documents: Review title documents, property legal descriptions, purchase offers, and case files.
- Researching: Research real estate industry issues, zoning laws, tax codes, and environmental regulations.
- Communicating: Facilitate communication between clients, landlords, property owners, and lawyers.
- Answering questions: Answer client questions and escalate serious concerns.
- Maintaining files: Maintain client files and ensure that they are properly organized and easy to find.
- Assisting with negotiations: Assist attorneys with the negotiation of contracts with real estate agents, contractors, and title companies.
- Preparing for depositions: Draft affidavits and help attorneys prepare for depositions.
- Monitoring transactions: Monitor financial transactions and foreclosures.
- Preparing for eviction proceedings: Prepare documents for eviction proceedings.
