Communications Analyst

Maycomb Capital
Brooklyn, NY

About the Role

Maycomb Capital is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Analyst to help shape and amplify the firm’s external voice. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and enjoys turning complex ideas into compelling, clear messaging.

You will work closely with senior leadership, as well as the investment and investor relations teams to develop high-quality written materials, manage digital presence, and support the firm’s brand positioning. This role offers significant ownership and visibility, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to how the firm is represented in the market.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, an organized project manager, and a proactive self-starter who is comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean, fast-moving environment.

Who You Are

  • A clear, concise writer who can quickly synthesize complex financial or impact-related information
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Energized by ownership — you prefer driving projects forward rather than waiting for direction
  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented; you’re comfortable with evolving priorities
  • Detail-obsessed when it comes to grammar, formatting, and presentation quality
  • Curious about investing, impact, and the broader market landscape
  • Comfortable collaborating with senior leaders and incorporating feedback efficiently
  • Excited to build and refine processes rather than rely on existing large-firm infrastructure

Responsibilities include

Content Development & Written Communications

  • Draft and edit high-quality written materials including due diligence questionnaire responses, investor communications, thought leadership pieces, and website content
  • Develop talking points, briefing memos, and presentation materials for senior leadership participating in conferences and events
  • Translate complex investment concepts and impact strategies into clear, compelling messaging
  • Ensure consistency of tone, voice, and positioning across all external materials

Marketing Collateral & Pitch Materials

  • Build and maintain pitch decks, one-pagers, and other investor- or investee-facing collateral
  • Partner with investment and investor relations team members to update materials with fund performance, portfolio highlights, and firm milestones
  • Support the development of new product or strategy materials as the firm evolves
  • Maintain an organized library of up-to-date marketing assets

Digital Presence & Brand Positioning

  • Manage and grow the firm’s LinkedIn presence, including content creation and editorial planning
  • Identify opportunities to highlight portfolio companies, thought leadership, and firm news
  • Monitor engagement metrics and refine content strategy accordingly
  • Help shape and reinforce the firm’s brand narrative in the market

Media & External Visibility

  • Research and identify opportunities for earned and placed media
  • Draft press materials, contributed articles, and award submissions
  • Coordinate with external partners (e.g., PR consultants, conference organizers) as needed
  • Track media coverage and maintain a record of external visibility

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with investment, investor relations, and leadership teams to source content and gather inputs
  • Manage multiple concurrent deadlines across teams
  • Take ownership of projects from initial concept through final delivery
  • Proactively identify ways to improve processes and elevate the firm’s external communications

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant major
  • 1-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Positive attitude and empathetic disposition; drive to do work in service of others
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and senior colleagues simultaneously
  • Strong written skills - published pieces of written content a plus
  • Superior PowerPoint slide creation and oral communications skills
  • Commitment to a collegial workplace and the flexibility and drive to thrive in an evolving start-up environment

The Communications and Investor Relations Analyst will work full-time, in-person at our office in Brooklyn with the Maycomb Capital team.

Salary and Benefits

  • The base salary for the position is expected to be between $68,000 and $85,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The Analyst will be eligible for an annual bonus.
  • Competitive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, access to retirement savings plan with employer contributions, commuter savings accounts, paid vacation and sick leave.

To Apply

Please send a copy of your resume and statement of interest to ***email_hidden*** with the subject line “Marketing and Communications Analyst.” Given the volume of interest, Maycomb will only directly contact those candidates that will proceed in the interview process.
