Gjelina Restaurant in NoHo on Bond Street is seeking an exceptional, hospitality-driven Maître D’ to lead our front door and oversee the guest experience.

As a high-volume, high-energy restaurant, we value confident professionals who bring warmth, precision, and leadership to every shift. This role is essential to setting the tone of service—from the first greeting to seamless coordination of reservations, seating, and overall front-of-house flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greet and seat guests while managing reservations and waitlists

• Supervise and coordinate host staff during service

• Maintain clear and professional communication with guests and service teams

• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with poise and care

• Support staff training and uphold service standards

• Maintain knowledge of regular guests and menu offerings

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum of 2 years of host or front desk experience in a leadership capacity

• Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

• Calm under pressure, team-oriented, and detail-driven

• Proficient with OpenTable and POS systems

• Excellent verbal communication skills and strong guest service instincts

• Commitment to ongoing learning and staff development

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Additional Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs

• Completion of alcohol safety and harassment prevention training

• Knowledge of hospitality best practices and health and safety protocols
