Assistant Nurse Manager, Operating Room

A highly respected, Magnet-recognized health system in New York is seeking a dynamic Assistant Nurse Manager to support leadership and operational oversight in its state-of-the-art Operating Room. About the Role

As the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will partner closely with the Nurse Manager to ensure smooth daily operations within the department. You will contribute to strategic planning, drive quality and safety initiatives, support staffing and budget management, and foster an environment of excellence aligned with the hospital’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain 24-hour accountability for nursing care within the unit.
• Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality clinical and departmental services.
• Manage full-time staffing resources in alignment with departmental staffing budgets.
• Actively participate in the Performance Improvement Program to enhance patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with all members of the hospital’s interdisciplinary team.
• Champion hospital initiatives, support new projects, and serve as a positive change agent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Active RN license
• 2+ years of Operating Room experience required.
• Prior leadership or management experience strongly preferred.

Position Details

• Full-time, permanent role
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 10:00 AM–8:00 PM
