Senior Full Stack Engineer (Founding Role)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, NY

Compensation: $150,000 - $250,000 (Base Salary) + Significant Equity

We are a fast-growing, mission-driven mental health startup tackling a critical and underserved area: geriatric mental health care (the 65+ age group). Backed by top-tier VCs and healthcare founders, we've achieved extreme Product-Market Fit in a large, blue ocean market. We are seeking a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to lead our AI-powered full stack from architecture to launch, with a clear trajectory to an Engineering Leadership role.

This is a ground-floor opportunity that demands speed, autonomy, and technical excellence. You will work side-by-side with the co-founders, owning major technical decisions and shaping the engineering organization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• V1 System Ownership: Design and ship our core clinical operations layer across the entire platform, encompassing the patient experience, therapist workflows, and EHR integrations—from the first line of code to production-ready tools.
• Lead AI Innovation: Be the driver for AI-native features, including speech-to-text triage, care navigation copilots, auto-summarized progress notes, intelligent intake, and real-time voice agents that interact with families.
• Architecture & Culture: Own architecture and major technical decisions while actively coding, reviewing, and shipping. Set the technical bar, mentor future teammates, and inspire a culture of speed, excellence, and impact.
• Rapid Iteration: Move at the speed of light by collaborating directly with clinicians, designers, and co-founders to ship, iterate, and improve in real-time without bureaucratic drag.

• Experience: 4 to 10 years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
• Technical Stack: Strong proficiency with our core stack components, including Next.js, Flask, and Node.js , and the ability to operate across the entire application stack.
• AI/ML Application: Practical experience building and scaling software that integrates AI or Machine Learning capabilities into production-ready features.
• Ownership: Proven track record of owning major projects end-to-end, acting with autonomy, and driving measurable impact at scale.
• Mindset: Eagerness to build an AI-first product from scratch and a passion for tackling mission-driven challenges, particularly in healthcare.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a heavily regulated field like HealthTech, FinTech, or a similar data-sensitive domain.
• Experience in a founding engineering role or leading a technical team/project.

• Equity & Compensation: Competitive salary ($150,000 - $250,000) and highly significant early-stage equity (0.5% - 2%).
• Career Trajectory: Clear path for growth, joining as a founding engineer with a direct trajectory to Head of Engineering or similar leadership roles.
• Mission-Driven Impact: Direct impact on one of the largest underserved populations in healthcare, tackling the highest suicide rates (65+ age group) with AI-powered geriatric mental health care.
