Job Title: OR Technician – CVOR (Cardiovascular OR Tech)

Location: Cooperstown, NY 13326

Duration: 12 Weeks

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced OR Technician (CVOR) to support cardiovascular surgical procedures in a high-acuity operating room environment. The ideal candidate will be skilled in maintaining sterile fields, assisting surgeons, and ensuring efficient surgical workflow.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields for cardiovascular and general OR procedures
• Assist surgeons during cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and advanced OR equipment
• Anticipate surgeon needs to support efficient case flow
• Perform OR setup and turnover between cases
• Collaborate with RNs, surgeons, and anesthesia teams
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols

Unit Overview

• Operating Rooms: 12 suites
• Average Case Volume: 25–30 cases per day
• Primary Specialties: General Surgery, Orthopedics
• Additional Services: Plastics, Neuro, Vascular (including hybrid cases), ENT, GYN, Urology, GI, Pain Management, Cardiac, Thoracic, and Podiatry

Call Requirements

• 4–5 on-call shifts per month
• Must be flexible and available for emergency and specialty cases

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Specialized experience in Cardiovascular OR (CVOR)
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
• Experience in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
