We are looking for an AP/AR Clerk to support day-to-day accounting operations for a construction business in Calverton, New York. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing both payables and receivables while keeping financial data accurate and up to date. The role will contribute to reliable recordkeeping, timely payment processing, and smooth coordination across routine bookkeeping activities.
Responsibilities:• Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and prepare payments within established timelines.
• Record incoming payments accurately and apply receipts to the appropriate customer accounts.
• Maintain organized and current financial files to support daily accounting activities and reporting needs.
• Handle cash-related transactions with care, ensuring balances are tracked and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Reconcile account activity by reviewing entries, identifying variances, and correcting records when needed.
• Support full-charge bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining ledgers and assisting with overall account accuracy.
• Update accounting data in QuickBooks and help ensure payroll-related information is entered accurately through Paycom.
• Communicate with internal contacts and external parties regarding payment status, account questions, and documentation requests.• Experience performing accounts payable and accounts receivable duties in a business or office setting.
• Working knowledge of full-charge bookkeeping and general accounting record maintenance.
• Ability to manage cash handling responsibilities with strong attention to accuracy and control.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence using accounting software for daily transaction entry.
• Familiarity with posting payments, maintaining account records, and tracking financial activity.
• Experience supporting payroll processes using Paycom or a similar payroll platform is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a detail-focused environment.
