Director, Energy Transition for Financial Institutions

The Opportunity

  • The global energy transition is reshaping how capital flows into energy and infrastructure. Financial institutions need trusted, actionable data to guide investment and financing decisions—and S&P Global Commodity Insights is working to meet that need.
  • We are building the next generation of data products and platforms that will help banks, investors, and financial institutions evaluate energy assets and transition opportunities with confidence. This is a chance to be at the forefront of innovation—where energy, finance, and technology converge.
  • As Director, Energy Transition for Financial Institutions, you will shape the strategy, build the roadmap, and lead execution for products that will define how the market navigates the transition. If you thrive in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments, understand the power of data, and are excited by the potential of agentic AI to transform how information is used, this is the role for you.

The Team

  • S&P Global Commodity Insights is the leading provider of information and insights across energy and commodities. Our Data as a Product team is a hub of innovation—combining deep market expertise, cutting-edge technology, and a passion for solving client problems. We value creativity, a global mindset, and bold thinking.

Your Impact

  • Shape the vision: Define how financial institutions access and use energy transition data.
  • Lead the roadmap: Translate market needs into a product strategy that drives growth and relevance.
  • Innovate with AI: Harness emerging technologies, including agentic AI, to reinvent how clients discover, connect, and act on data.
  • Deliver at scale: Work across research, technology, and commercial teams to bring products from concept to market.
  • Engage clients directly: Partner with financial institutions to understand their challenges and translate them into solutions.
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Anticipate where markets, policy, and technology are headed—and build products that keep clients ahead too.
  • Partnership: Work across the business line to deliver innovation and outcomes for the broader offerings.

Basic Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, data science, engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5+ years of product management experience in data-driven businesses.
  • Strong background in data strategy, quality, or commercialization.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver complex product roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of energy transition, sustainability, or financial services markets.
  • Experience working with AI-driven products, data platforms, or advanced analytics.
  • Start-up or high-growth company background, with a track record of moving fast and innovating.
  • Ability to lead through influence in a global, matrixed organization

Internal candidates should also demonstrate strong foundation in data-driven product development and experience in the financial services industry, ideally.
