This is a position-specific recruitment. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) position/function only. The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: The DriveEzMD Outreach team plays an integral part in educating the public about the MDTA tolling operations by participating in public events in Maryland as an exhibitor. The Outreach Coordinator will lead DriveEzMD's external outreach and education initiatives at public events. The position requires superior customer service skills and the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with many different audiences, to lead a team and to act independently The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Coordinate MDTA's DrivEzMD public outreach program, including researching and determining appropriate and cost-effective events and conferences for MDTA to exhibit;
  • Develop annual outreach and education plan with the approval of Director of Customer Service;
  • Organize, train, and manage team members for exhibits and events—with possible overnight in-state travel, weekend, and evening work duties, including being available by phone for team members during evening/weekend events for questions;
  • Prepare event summary and E-ZPass On-the-Go receipts/reports; and
  • Coordinate with the Division of Communications (DOC) Marketing Manager on educational materials for use at MDTA's DriveEzMD outreach exhibits, including making recommendations for exhibit needs.
This position will report to the Director of Customer Experience or other designated official. Employee must be available to travel during nights and weekends including overnight stays up to 30% of the time during peak periods. The current vacancy is located in Baltimore, MD. Hybrid telework schedules may be available for this position. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Three (3) years of experience in administrative or professional work. **One (1) year of this experience must include planning, implementation and development of a public outreach program. **This statement contains a SELECTIVE QUALIFICATION, which is more focused in scope than the Minimum Qualifications for this classification.
