Position Overview: We seek a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer to join our team and perform Special Inspections specifically focused on pile installations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and safety of foundation systems by conducting thorough inspections and providing expert evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Special Inspections: Conduct special inspections for pile installations, including driven piles, drilled shafts, helical piles, and other foundation systems by relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Document Findings: Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting observations, test results, and any deviations from design specifications. Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Collaborate with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate inspection activities, address issues, and provide technical guidance on pile installation processes.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Identify and report any non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on pile design, installation techniques, and testing methods. Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and changes in regulations related to pile installations.
  • Field Inspections: Conduct on-site inspections, including verifying pile dimensions, load-bearing capacities, and installation procedures. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all inspection activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical skills and stay current with advancements in pile inspection methodologies.
Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of NY required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil or structural engineering, with a focus on pile installations and special inspections.
