Vasity Boys Basketball Coach

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered, and enthusiastic Varsity Boys Head Basketball Coach to lead and develop our high school basketball program. The successful candidate will promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and athletic excellence while fostering a positive and inclusive environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the varsity boys basketball program
• Develop practice plans, game strategies, and offseason development opportunities
• Promote skill development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team events
• Collaborate with modified and JV coaching staff to ensure program continuity
• Maintain effective communication with players, parents, administration, and athletic department staff
• Ensure compliance with NYSPHSAA, Section II, and district policies and regulations
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and behavioral expectations
• Maintain equipment inventory and assist with program needs

Qualifications

• Previous basketball coaching experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development
• Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• NYS Coaching Certification requirements completed or in progress
• Fingerprint clearance required

Pay: $4,000.00 per year
